Priority positions
The entrance and till area usually matter most, since these are where incidents and disputes occur. A stockroom camera and a rear-door camera cover deliveries and staff access.
Getting usable pictures
Bright shopfront glass, signage and strong sunlight can ruin footage if cameras are not positioned and set up with them in mind. We test at the door during the survey.
Recorder and access
The recorder should sit somewhere secure, and viewing rights should be limited. We set up how you export clips if you need to share them.
Benefits and limitations
Customers must be told that CCTV is in operation. Cameras should not cover changing rooms or other private areas, and footage should be kept no longer than needed.

Questions about Retail CCTV Installation
Straight answers to common questions. If yours is not here, send us an enquiry.
How many cameras does a shop need?
It varies with layout. Many small shops start with two to four, but we recommend a number after seeing the unit.
Can footage be used to deal with disputes?
Clear, correctly timed footage can help, subject to data protection rules. We set the recorder clock and export method during handover.
